So, I just read this article about the world's most powerful laser being built. The scientists who are building it are hoping to find "ghost particles" and other dimensions.
*sigh* Clearly I've been an engineer too long, because when I read a sentence that says it's going to take 10 years to complete and a predicted 1.6 billion, all I can think is that no project ever comes in on time or under budget. This is going to take a long time (if it doesn't get cancelled due to policy changes) and its going to cost a lot of money
But other than that, it's pretty cool. If they could prove the existence of other dimensions and the number of other dimensions, I feel like that would put a lot of theoretical physics arguments to rest.

Ah! Your comment makes me laugh - at least the first paragraph! Yeah... it could be really cool otherwise & if it actually happens! :)
