Which leads me to ask: who would YOU dress up as?
Steampunk definitely ruled the con! |
Can't go wrong with a classic Wolverine and Rogue |
You don't actually have to BE a character--a space suit and blaster is more than enough! |
There was a surprising number of Disney Princesses (and Princess Friends) this year. |
That Dalek? IS the costume. There's a person in there, making it move! |
And, of course, anime! Here's Inuyasha, my fave anime character ever. |
This is just a SMALL sample of all the fantastic costumes I saw at Dragon*Con! I, unfortunately didn't end up dressing up..but I'm starting to think it might be fun to do that next year!
So guys: what would YOU dress up for a day as? Or, if you've been to Dragon*Con (or any con) what was the best costume you saw someone else dressed as?

Looks like a lot of fun. Hope you enjoyed yourself! I'm not sure who I would dress up as but Steampunk looks to be a cool choice. :D
I actually had a dream last night that I was in a competition and one part of it was cosplay... I dressed up as Sailor Moon. ;)
I'd love to be glamorous Inara from Firefly :)
That looks like it was a ton of fun. I actually was at the Renaissance Faire (with an "e) in New York yesterday. It was a blast. I dressed up as a Warrior Princess. :) A fancy shirt with a flair-y skirt and a bow and sword. ;) People went crazy, though. I don't know how they didn't melt in those outfits...
Dragon*Con sounds really cool. Glad you enjoyed!
I've done costumes at the Ren Fest (both as a human-type person and otherwise), and if I had the chance to go to something like DragonCon, you can bet I'd find someone to be while I was there. Dark Phoenix is the most likely contender. :-P
I would so be Katniss from The Hunger Games. Nothing cooler then that. :)
I always wanted to go as The Bride from Kill Bill. Yellow jumpsuit, couple samurai swords on my back and I'd be all set. :) Great pics!
I've been to DragonCon and during the trip I dressed as a 1950s pin-up girl for one day. That happened to be the day I met Larry Elmore and Doug Jones. Epic.
If I ever went back, I'd go as Lambchop because while I was there the first time, I had a Lambchop backpack and EVERYONE had a fit over the backpack. I mean, I had Stormtroopers and Boba Fetts descending on me in a hoard!
As for best costume I saw while there, it's a tie between one really good (and very well muscled) Drizzt Do'Urden, a SUPER sexy Liloo from the Fifth Element, and Mr. Clean. I just love the simple/silly/poke-fun-at-your-own-geekiness ones!
I dressed up in steampunk garb for a sci-fi convention this year. My costume is gorgeous and was super fun to put together :-)
